About me: I was born and raised in a suburb of Chicago, IL (Bears and White Sox fan!). I received my accounting degree from North Central College (Naperville, IL) and a master's in accounting from DePaul University (downtown Chicago). While in college, I worked in the accounting department at the John Marshall Law School in the city. After school, I worked for a little over 3 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an external auditor - that means I audited my client's financial statements and my firm issued an independent opinion on them to the public/banks/parent company. In 2017, I returned to school to obtain my Ph.D. in Business Administration-Accounting from the University of South Florida - that means I basically learned about academic accounting research and how to perform it. I still hold an active CPA license but teaching and research as a tenure-track professor have since become my new career!

Believe it or not, I have a life outside of accounting too ;) I have a daughter named Paige and a Doberman named Douglas. I like to run to stay active, travel, go to the beach, hike/kayak, and pretty much anything that involves adventure, animals, and/or being outside!
